The textile sector is one of the traditional industries of our country and is one of the cornerstones of our success story in industry and exports. The Turkish textile and ready-to-wear sector as a whole is currently the number one sector with the largest foreign trade surplus. In addition, it contributes significantly to the reduction of unemployment and the welfare of society through the employment it creates. The Turkish Textile Sector has a very special place in the world due to its product quality, designs that have the power to set fashion and trends, and its high technology. As the top-ranking sector in our country based on parameters such as its share in GDP and use of domestic input, it also forms the foundation of our existence in global markets.

Türkiye is the largest textile-producing country on the European continent. Furthermore, our country is the seventh-largest cotton producer in the world. The machine park established for the production of embroidery and guipure in home textiles is the largest in the world. Europe’s largest duvet cover producing factory is in Türkiye. It is one of the top three towel suppliers in the world. Türkiye’s share of world textile exports is approximately 3.4%, and 3.8% in home and space textiles (2024).
